During routine patrolling near Landrijhor, in Boudh district, Purunakatak police intercepted a vehicle and seized 14.65 kilograms of ganja being transported illegally.
Two individuals were arrested at the spot, while a third suspect managed to flee.
According to police, the suspects were carrying the contraband on two-wheelers from Phulbani side. Acting on suspicion, officers stopped them and seized the contraband along with three vehicles, including two scooters and a Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle.
Purunakatak Police Station IIC Babita Sahoo said the two arrested suspects are from the Harabhanga area, while the absconding suspect is from Athamallik in Anugola district.
Police have registered a case under relevant sections and launched an active search operation to trace the fleeing suspect.
