A small argument over a Ludo game turned fatal when a man was stabbed to death by his relative in Kastiguda village under Khatiguda police station limits in Nabarangpur district.
The deceased has been identified as Raghu Santa. According to police reports, Raghu and his relative, 35-year-old Surendra Santa, had engaged in a heated argument over a Ludo game a few days ago.
The old grudge resurfaced on Tuesday night during a village music and dance rehearsal (Baja Akhada). Amid the festivities, Surendra suddenly attacked Raghu with a knife. Raghu collapsed on the spot with severe injuries. Family members and villagers rushed him toward the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries en route.
Upon receiving information, Khatiguda police seized the body and sent it to Nabarangpur District Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem.
The accused, Surendra, fled the scene immediately after the assault. Police filed a case and are searching for the suspect as the investigation continues.
