In a strict administrative action against dereliction of duty, the School and Mass Education Department of Odisha has placed Rajib Kumar Dalai, the Block Education Officer (BEO) of Hatadihi in Kendujhar district, under immediate suspension.
The disciplinary action was taken following allegations of negligence and rule violations that hampered the progress of the ongoing “Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026” exercise in Hatadihi block.
According to an official order issued by the Commissioner-cum-Secretary to the Government by order of the Governor, a formal disciplinary proceeding is contemplated against Dalai for impeding the progress of the SIR-2026 program.
The suspension has been enforced with immediate effect in terms of Rule 12(i) of the Odisha Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1962.
During the suspension period, Dalai’s headquarters has been fixed at the office of the District Education Officer (DEO), Kendujhar. The directive explicitly mentions that he shall not leave the headquarters without obtaining prior permission from the competent authority.
The notification also outlines that Dalai will be entitled to a subsistence allowance in accordance with Rule 90 of the Orissa Service Code for the duration of his suspension.
