A speeding luxury car allegedly driven by a tipsy man lost control near Palasuni in Bhubaneswar early Thursday, ramming into several vehicles and leaving four to five people injured.
Witnesses said the car, reportedly moving at over 150 kmph, first struck an Alto, then a Swift Dzire, before crashing into two motorcycles. The successive collisions severely damaged three cars and two two-wheelers.
The injured were rushed to Capital Hospital. One victim was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Kataka after his condition worsened.
Police suspect the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The multi-vehicle crash sparked panic among locals and disrupted traffic in the area.
Mancheswar police reached the spot promptly, detained the driver, and launched an investigation to determine the circumstances behind the crash.
