The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has announced that the inventory of ornaments stored in the Ratna Bhandar of the Puri Srimandir will begin today and continue for two days — Monday (31 August) and Tuesday (1 September 2026).
According to the official notice, the exercise is being conducted in line with the government‑approved Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and under tight security arrangements.
A high‑level committee chaired by Justice Biswanath Rath is overseeing the process, joined by Chief Administrator Arabinda Padhee, authorised servitors, the temple goldsmith (bania), a gemologist, the Bhandar Mekap, and the Deulakaran.
The rare gold ornaments of Mahaprabhu, along with diamonds, pearls, leela and other precious stones, will be carefully counted, weighed, and matched against the official 1978 inventory list. The entire process is being conducted under continuous CCTV surveillance, with complete videography and photography to ensure transparency.
The temple administration clarified that public darshan of the deities will continue as usual from near the outer katha during the inventory work.
