Odisha is taking its industrial story to one of the world’s busiest business hubs. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will lead a high-level delegation to a two-day Investors’ Meet in Dubai on September 8 and 9, aiming to draw fresh capital from the United Arab Emirates and the wider Gulf.
The visit is part of the state government’s push to convert mineral strength into value-added manufacturing, clean energy and large-scale jobs. Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain and senior officials will accompany the Chief Minister. The team is expected to leave for Dubai around September 6 or 7.
At the meet, Odisha will showcase opportunities in metals and downstream manufacturing, petrochemicals, green energy and green hydrogen, food processing, textiles and apparel, electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM), and ports and logistics. Dubai has been chosen as a strategic gateway to the Middle East and the MENA region, where several large conglomerates are headquartered. Officials plan B2G meetings with leading industrial groups and hope the roadshow will yield new investment intents and projects.
The outreach builds on recent momentum. In July 2026, Odisha signed an MoU with Abu Dhabi-based International Holding Company (IHC Group), in partnership with the Adani Group, for a mega integrated aluminium project estimated at about ₹1.10 lakh crore. The state has also run investor roadshows in Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Vadodara and New Delhi, pitching itself as a growth engine for eastern India under the Centre’s Purvodaya vision.
After the investors’ meet, Majhi will meet Prabhasi Odias in Dubai. On the evening of September 11, he is scheduled to interact with the diaspora for about an hour on a range of issues. A special registration drive has already begun for those who wish to attend.
