In a decisive move to prioritise safety, Utkal University has postponed all undergraduate (+3), B.Sc. ITM, B.Sc. Computer Science and B.Ed (UDTE) 4th semester examinations scheduled for 17 August 2026.
The Controller of Examinations issued the official notification (No. CoE/2146/2026) on 16 August, citing the “recent flood situation affecting several areas and the resulting disruption to transportation and normal academic activities.”
Heavy rainfall has left roads waterlogged and campuses inaccessible in multiple districts, making it unsafe for thousands of students, faculty members and examination staff to travel. The university has made it clear that the decision was taken solely to protect lives and ensure convenience during the ongoing crisis.
All examinations that were to begin on Monday have been deferred until further notice. A revised schedule and fresh question-paper distribution plan will be announced once the flood situation improves.
Principals and directors of every +3 degree college (including self-financing institutions) affiliated to Utkal University have been directed to inform students and staff immediately through notice boards and official channels. The same order has also been uploaded on the UUeMS portal for wider reach.
Students are advised to stay updated through the university website (utkaluniversity.ac.in) and the UUeMS portal. The authorities have assured that the new dates will be notified well in advance so that academic calendars can be adjusted smoothly.
