The Punjab Police has busted an ISI‑sponsored Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) module and arrested a key operative in a joint operation by Counterintelligence Jalandhar and SBS Nagar Police.
According to DGP Gaurav Yadav, police recovered an 86‑P hand grenade from the accused, foiling a planned attack. Preliminary investigation revealed the grenade was procured from a Dead Letter Box (DLB) near Adampur on the directions of foreign‑based handlers.
An FIR has been registered at Sadar Nawanshahr police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Explosive Substances Act.
The CID, probing the alleged recruitment and terror linkages, has so far arrested 19 people. Investigators are now focusing on exposing the wider network, including foreign handlers, local support systems, and forward and backward linkages.
“Further investigation is underway to uncover the complete terror network,” Yadav said, adding that Punjab Police remains committed to dismantling cross‑border modules and maintaining public safety.
This operation underscores Punjab Police’s intensified campaign against ISI‑backed terror outfits and their alleged ties with organised crime.
