The Odisha State Warehousing Corporation (OSWC) today handed over a dividend of Rs 2,88,37,913 to the state government for the financial year 2023‑24.
The cheque was presented to Cooperation, Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts Minister Pradeep Bal Samanta in the presence of Commissioner‑cum‑Secretary Rajesh Prabhakar Patil and OSWC Managing Director Mihir Prasad Mohanty.
For FY 2023‑24, OSWC recorded a net profit of Rs 19.22 crore, declaring a 30% dividend amounting to Rs 5.76 crore. The dividend has been shared equally between the Odisha government and the Central Warehousing Corporation, with each receiving Rs 2.88 crore.
Officials including Personal Secretary Pitambar Samal, Finance Advisor Smitañjali Swain, General Manager Trupti Kalyan Sethi, and Senior Superintendent Prabhat Kumar Parida were present during the handover.
Established in 1958, OSWC operates 68 warehouses across 30 districts with a storage capacity of 5.21 lakh metric tonnes. The corporation has consistently reported profits, enabling regular dividend payments to its stakeholders.
In previous years, OSWC paid dividends of Rs 81.59 lakh (2022‑23), Rs 3.40 crore (2021‑22), and Rs 4.36 crore (2019‑20 and 2020‑21) to each stakeholder.
Officials said the corporation’s sustained profitability reflects efficient utilisation of storage capacity and its growing role in Odisha’s cooperative and agricultural infrastructure.
