India’s Protistha Samanta advanced to the women’s vault final at the Commonwealth Games 2026, finishing fifth in the qualification round with a combined score of 13.025 across two vaults.
The 22‑year‑old gymnast from West Bengal secured her place among the top eight finalists, keeping India’s medal hopes alive in the individual apparatus event.
Teammate Pranati Nayak narrowly missed qualification, ending 11th with 12.555 to be listed as the third reserve. Eshitaa Rewale placed 15th (11.725), while Nishka Agarwal finished 19th (11.075). In the all‑around standings, Protistha and Eshitaa ended 27th and 28th respectively, both placed on the reserve list.
India’s women’s team concluded its campaign in ninth place with a total of 123 points. The squad was fifth after completing all four rotations in Subdivision 3 but dropped after the remaining subdivisions. Australia clinched gold with 158.400, followed by Canada (157.300) and England (154.300).
As per the format, the best three scores per apparatus counted toward the team total, while the top eight gymnasts on each apparatus — limited to two per country — qualified for the finals.
