An autorickshaw carrying schoolchildren overturned near Nandahandi Square in Nabarangpur district, leaving seven students injured.
The autorickshaw, reportedly ferrying students from Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya, Saruguda, lost balance around 4 PM and toppled while heading towards Nabarangpur. Among the injured, one student’s condition is said to be critical.
Local sources confirmed that the driver fled the scene immediately after the accident. The injured students were rushed to Saruguda Community Health Centre for first aid, and later one critically injured child was shifted to the Nabarangpur District Headquarters Hospital.
Following the incident, ASI Tulasi Ram Pujari of Dangarveja Police Outpost reached the spot, seized the autorickshaw, and registered a case (No. 313/26). Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
