Amid a sea of devotees, the Pahandi Bije ritual of the Holy Trinity — Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra, and Lord Jagannath — concluded on Thursday as the deities were ceremonially ushered onto their respective chariots on the Bada Danda (Grand Road).
The grand procession began with Chakra Raj Sudarshan being carried atop the Debadalana ratha of Devi Subhadra, followed by the Pahandi of Lord Balabhadra. Once Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra were seated on their chariots, the most awaited moment arrived — the Pahandi of Mahaprabhu Jagannath.
As Lord Jagannath emerged from the Singhadwar, swinging his giant Tahia (tiara), the air reverberated with chants of Hari Bol, Jai Jagannath, and Huluhuli. Against the backdrop of the colourful, towering chariots, the Grand Road transformed into a sea of humanity, marking one of the most divine spectacles of the annual Rath Yatra.
