Indian Women’s Relay Team Strikes Gold at Asian Relays

The Indian women’s 4x100m relay team captured gold at the Asian Relays Championships on Sunday.


Srabani Nanda, SS Sneha, Sudeshna Shivankar and Tamanna clocked 43.85 seconds, their season-best, to secure the top podium finish.

The victory highlighted India’s growing strength in sprint relays. Nanda anchored the team with precision while Sneha, Shivankar and Tamanna maintained rhythm through clean baton exchanges. Their performance underscored India’s rising depth in women’s sprinting.

India added silver in the mixed 4x400m relay. Theerthesh Shetty, Poovamma MR, Bharath Sridhar and Neeru Pathak combined for 3:17.06 seconds. Earlier, the mixed 4x100m team of Pranav Gaurav, Tamanna, Animesh Kujur and SS Sneha claimed bronze with 41.27 seconds. Thailand won gold in 41.14 seconds while China took silver in 41.29 seconds.

The men’s 4x400m relay team finished fifth in 3:05.33 seconds. Theerthesh Shetty, Avinash Krishna Kumar, Suraj A Raja and Barath Sridhar fought hard but trailed Vietnam, China and Sri Lanka. Vietnam clocked 3:02.60 seconds for gold.

The women’s 4x400m relay team finished fourth in 3:34.88 seconds. Saloni Nagar, Poovamma MR, Ansa Babu and Rashdeep Kaur missed the podium as Vietnam, China and Kazakhstan secured the medals.

India’s medal tally closed with gold in women’s 4x100m, silver in mixed 4x400m and bronze in mixed 4x100m. The Asian Relays showcased India’s sprinting potential and reinforced the nation’s growing presence in continental athletics.
