A shocking video from Udala in Mayurbhanj district shows miscreants brutally assaulting two youths on a busy road, raising serious concerns about law and order in Odisha.
The incident occurred last month, just 500 meters from Udala police station in Ward No. 5. CCTV and mobile footage captured three to four youths chasing and thrashing two young men in full public view.
Local reports suggest the victims may have been attacked after complaining about poor‑quality work, though officials have not confirmed this claim. The video shows the assailants repeatedly kicking and punching the youths, leaving them bloodied.
The footage quickly went viral, sparking outrage among residents and drawing attention to the brazenness of the attackers. The assault highlights growing fears about unchecked violence in public spaces.
This case follows similar incidents in Balianta and Berhampur, where videos of public beatings also surfaced recently. Together, these events have triggered debate over rising street violence and the need for stronger policing in Odisha towns.
Police have yet to issue an official statement on the Udala assault. The viral video continues to circulate widely, fueling demands for swift action against the culprits.
