Odisha Vigilance arrested Tarini Prasad Tripathy, Managing Director of K. Singhpur Large Area Multi‑Purpose Co‑operative Society (LAMPCS) in Rayagada district, for allegedly embezzling Rs 75 lakhs from society funds.
Officials said the fraud took place between 2024 and 2026. Investigators revealed that Tripathy manipulated official records to siphon off deposits belonging to primary members of the Co‑operative Society. The misappropriated amount directly impacted local stakeholders who relied on the institution for financial security.
A rigorous documentary verification confirmed the irregularities. Vigilance officers stated that the fraudulent transactions systematically drained savings and deposits, undermining trust in the Co‑operative system.
Koraput Vigilance PS registered Case No. 8 dated 21.05.2026 under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018 and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. Tripathy was taken into custody and forwarded to court.
Authorities emphasised that the arrest reflects ongoing efforts to curb financial misconduct in Co‑operative institutions. The investigation continues to trace additional evidence and identify possible accomplices.
