The BCCI announced India A’s squad for the upcoming one‑day tri‑series against Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A, naming Tilak Varma as captain and including teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.
The series will be played in Dambulla, followed by two multi‑day matches between India A and Sri Lanka A in Galle.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s selection marks a major milestone for the 15‑year‑old, who impressed in IPL 2026 with Rajasthan Royals. He scored 440 runs in 11 matches, including a century against Sunrisers Hyderabad, earning recognition as one of India’s brightest young talents. His inclusion adds an exciting dimension to India A’s batting lineup.
Tilak Varma will lead a balanced squad featuring Riyan Parag as vice‑captain, Ayush Badoni, Nishant Sindhu, Harsh Dubey, and wicketkeepers Prabhsimran Singh and Kumar Kushagra. The bowling attack includes Yash Thakur, Yudhvir Singh, Anshul Kamboj, and Arshad Khan, supported by all‑rounders Vipraj Nigam and Suryansh Shedge.
After the tri‑series, India A will face Sri Lanka A in two multi‑day matches, with a separate squad to be announced later. The series offers emerging players a platform to showcase their skills ahead of senior team opportunities.
