Delhi University (DU) has announced that students must choose CUET (Common University Entrance Test) UG subjects in alignment with their Class 12 coursework.

This decision was emphasized during a webinar conducted by the university to help aspirants navigate the admission process.

Officials, including DU’s Dean of Admissions, Haneet Gandhi, highlighted the importance of accurately filling CUET UG applications. Students are advised to double-check details like their name, category, and digital signatures, as errors cannot be rectified later.

The CUET UG allows students to opt for a maximum of five subjects, including a General Aptitude Test. For specific courses, such as B.Com (Hons.), eligibility is tied to having studied subjects like Mathematics or Accountancy in Class 12. Those without these subjects can still apply for the general B.Com course.

DU reiterated that CUET UG scores will be the sole criterion for admission to undergraduate courses, with Class 12 board results only determining passing eligibility. Students are urged to rely on DU’s official website for accurate information to avoid falling prey to misinformation.

Admissions under School of Open Learning (SOL), Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB), and for foreign candidates are exempt from the CUET UG requirement.

This policy applies to all 69 affiliated colleges and 79 undergraduate courses offered by DU. The changes aim to streamline the admission process and align it closely with the academic background of applicants.
