In a moment of pure spiritual grandeur, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi stood among the sea of devotees in Puri as Mahaprabhu Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra were adorned in their breathtaking Suna Besha — the golden attire that transforms the deities into radiant embodiments of divinity.
The majestic golden ornaments gleamed under the evening sky as the sibling deities sat atop their gigantic chariots, drawing gasps of awe and tears of devotion from the millions gathered for this sacred spectacle of the Rath Yatra festivities.
Accompanied by his wife, Smt. Priyanka Marndi, the Chief Minister paid his respects and soaked in the divine atmosphere that has defined Puri for centuries. Also present on the occasion was Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Chief Administrator Arabinda Kumar Padhee, overseeing the seamless conduct of the rituals.
True to his hands-on leadership style, CM Majhi later visited the Integrated Command and Control Centre at JBPC, Puri. There, senior officials briefed him in detail about the real-time crowd management measures, traffic flow, and security arrangements, ensuring the safety and smooth experience of the lakhs of pilgrims.
Suna Besha remains one of the most visually spectacular and spiritually charged moments of the Rath Yatra, when the Lord of the Universe is bedecked in pure gold, offering darshan to devotees in a form that symbolises prosperity, protection, and boundless grace.
