Fuel availability in Odisha

In view of certain recent media reports regarding the temporary non-availability of Petrol and Diesel in a few areas of Odisha, the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have clarified that there is sufficient availability of fuel at retail outlets across the State and the overall supply situation remains normal and stable.

During the first few days of the current month, some bordering districts of Odisha witnessed an unexpected surge in demand for Petrol and Diesel. Responding swiftly to the situation, the OMCs initiated coordinated measures to replenish fuel stocks at the affected retail outlets without delay.

To ensure an uninterrupted fuel supply, additional tank trucks have been mobilised for faster transportation and replenishment of stocks at various supply locations and retail outlets. Real-time monitoring of inventory levels is also being undertaken, with priority supply being ensured to outlets reporting lower stock levels.

The OMCs have further advised industrial consumers to procure their fuel requirements directly from the respective Oil Companies instead of purchasing from retail outlets, as retail fuel stations are not authorised for bulk sale of petroleum products.

The Companies have reiterated that an adequate stock of Petrol and Diesel is available at all supply locations and retail outlets across Odisha, and all fuel stations are functioning normally.

Reassuring the public, the OMCs stated that there is no cause for concern and appealed to consumers to avoid panic buying. Citizens have also been requested to rely only on official sources for information and updates related to fuel availability.
