Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi addressed the Business Eminence Awards 2026 in Bhubaneswar, celebrating entrepreneurs who combined determination, innovation, and social commitment to shape new milestones in business and industry.
He congratulated Dharitri and Orissa Post for honouring achievers who inspire society through resilience and entrepreneurial spirit. He emphasised that every successful enterprise reflects sleepless nights, relentless effort, and bold dreams.
Shri Majhi recalled Dharitri’s legacy since 1974, noting its role in reflecting youth aspirations and shaping modern Odisha’s thought process. He praised the awards for recognising entrepreneurs who stood by employees during crises like the COVID-19 pandemic, keeping businesses alive and contributing to the economy.
Highlighting Odisha’s transformation, he said the state now stands at the threshold of a new era, evolving into a hub of industry, investment, education, technology, and economic progress. He projected Odisha’s economy to reach $500 billion by 2036 and $1,500 billion by 2047, positioning the state as a growth engine for developed India.
He outlined infrastructure projects, including coastal highways, expressways, ports, and rail expansion, supported by the central government. He stressed Odisha’s rise in steel, petrochemicals, renewable energy, IT, and semiconductor manufacturing, citing recent investments and job creation.
The Chief Minister underscored youth empowerment, announcing a new scheme, Udyami, to support 6,000 nano entrepreneurs. He reaffirmed the government’s focus on education, skill development, and startups, ensuring opportunities for Odia youth to study, work, and innovate within the state.
He concluded by calling for collective effort from government, industry, academia, media, and citizens to build a prosperous, self-reliant, and strong Odisha.
