Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi joined little children at Raj Bhavan Upper Primary School in Bhubaneswar during the state-level Khadi Chhuan Divas, marking the symbolic beginning of their learning journey.
He guided students to write “Ma” and “Bapa” with chalk, encouraging them to embrace education with interest and respect rather than fear.
The Chief Minister announced that the government distributed five lakh invitation letters this year to ensure 100 per cent enrollment. He assured that no child in Odisha would remain deprived of education. He inspected exhibitions showcasing teaching materials prepared under the “Nipun Odisha” and “Padhiba Gadhiba Odisha” campaigns, handed over education kits to children, and praised their artwork displayed at stalls. Children gifted their drawings to him, receiving warm encouragement in return.
Majhi highlighted Khadi Chhuan as a sacred Odia tradition now institutionalised at the state level. He declared that Anganwadi centres will gradually merge with Shishu Vatika schools under the new education policy, creating a unified early learning system.
He emphasised that primary education will remain under one roof, beginning from Shishu Vatika, and announced plans to establish model schools in every village. He also revealed that the Godabarish Mishra Primary School will be built on five acres of land at a cost of Rs 6 crore.
The Chief Minister urged media representatives to transform the education campaign into a mass movement and called on teachers to nurture students with affection and guide their talents responsibly. He flagged off the Education Awareness Rath to spread the message statewide.
