A 24-year-old woman, Savita Bhakta, was allegedly murdered by her husband, Photal Bhakta, aged 28, in Tangashol village under the Chandua police limits in Mayurbhanj.
The incident reportedly occurred following an argument between the couple when Savita confronted her husband over suspicions of him talking to another woman on his mobile phone. The dispute escalated, leading to the tragic attack.
According to reports, Photal stayed beside his wife’s body throughout the night. This morning, local police arrived at the scene and detained the accused husband.
An investigation into the case has been initiated to uncover further details, the police said.
