A 21-year-old youth was rescued alive from the Kuakhai River after reportedly jumping into the river from the Tankapani Bridge in Bhubaneswar.
The incident triggered an immediate rescue response after the Balianta Fire Services team received information that the youth had entered the river.
Fire team launches immediate rescue operation
The fire personnel quickly reached the spot and launched a search and rescue operation in the Kuakhai River.
After an intensive effort, the team successfully located and rescued the youth, identified as Suryanarayan Jena, 21, from the river.
The successful operation brought the youth out of the swollen river safely.
Youth shifted to Capital Hospital
Following the rescue, Suryanarayan Jena was taken to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar for medical treatment.
The incident highlights the importance of rapid emergency response, particularly during periods when rivers and other water bodies have strong currents or elevated water levels.
