By Day 19, The Kerala Story 2 has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark at the Indian box office, reflecting a resilient theatrical journey.

The film, a sequel to the controversial yet commercially successful The Kerala Story (2023), opened to moderate numbers but maintained consistent collections through word-of-mouth and loyal audiences.

In its first two weeks, the film earned over Rs 40 crore. While weekday collections dipped, weekend numbers remained stable, helping the film sustain momentum. Trade analysts note that such consistency points to a dedicated audience base rather than hype-driven viewership.

The film’s run faces challenges as anticipation builds for Dhurandhar 2, which has strong advance bookings and aggressive promotions. Analysts expect the new release to impact screen counts and daily earnings of The Kerala Story 2. Still, the sequel continues to hold ground, especially in smaller centres and single-screen theatres, where its subject matter and recall value resonate strongly.

Compared to its predecessor, which sparked nationwide debate and massive box office success, The Kerala Story 2 has followed a more measured trajectory. Crossing Rs 50 crore remains a respectable achievement in a competitive environment.

As the film enters the latter part of its theatrical run, its ability to sustain collections will depend on how it performs against new releases. Industry observers highlight that steady growth and audience retention often outweigh explosive openings, making The Kerala Story 2 a notable example of content-driven engagement in today’s dynamic film industry.
