Alyssa Healy ended her international career in stunning fashion, scoring 158 in her farewell ODI against India at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart.
Opening the innings, Healy reached her century in just 79 balls and went on to record the highest score ever in a farewell ODI in women’s cricket.
Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and chose to field. Before the match, Indian players honoured Healy with a guard of honour. Healy responded with a commanding knock, striking 18 boundaries and accelerating after reaching her fifty in 49 balls. She punished every loose delivery and never looked troubled, thrilling the Hobart crowd as she crossed 150.
This innings marked Healy’s eighth ODI century and her third against India. She previously scored 142 against India in the ICC Women’s World Cup and followed it with 113 against Bangladesh. Her consistency in major tournaments defined her career, and her farewell knock reinforced her reputation as one of Australia’s most impactful players.
Healy became only the second woman to score a century in her final ODI, joining South Africa’s Johmari Logtenberg, who made 153 not out against the Netherlands. West Indies’ Carol‑Ann James narrowly missed the milestone with an unbeaten 99 against Denmark in 1997.
Healy’s 158 now stands as the highest farewell ODI score in women’s cricket history. Her innings showcased the aggressive driving and straight bat that made her a cornerstone of Australia’s ODI unit. Fans applauded her brilliance, celebrating a career that combined match‑winning performances with unforgettable moments.
