Koraput Police seized 1800 litres of hashish oil and over 1000 kilograms of ganja during a major raid near the Odisha-Andhra Pradesh border.
Jungle Raid Led by SP Koraput
Police acted on precise intelligence and raided a temporary hashish oil manufacturing unit in the jungle area along Jholaput Reservoir under Padua PS. The team avoided road routes, using boats and trekking through tough terrain to conceal their movement. The raid uncovered more than 180 litres of hashish oil worth approximately ₹200 crore and over 1000 kilograms of ganja valued at Rs 5 crore. Officers also seized equipment used in the makeshift unit.
The remoteness of the area and the quick assembly and disassembly of the units had posed challenges in earlier raids. Police identified the masterminds behind the operation and confirmed interstate links in the manufacturing process. The raid continues, and further details remain undisclosed.
Separate Raid in Nandpur PS
In another operation, the Koraput Police nabbed two interstate smugglers from Haryana. Officers seized 1143 kilograms of ganja worth Rs 5 crore concealed inside plastic trays in two Mahindra pickup trucks. Police arrested four accused, including two suppliers from Semiliguda and two receivers from Haryana. Investigations in this case are ongoing.
DIG SWR Koraput confirmed both raids as part of intensified operations against interstate drug networks.
