Peru’s four-time champion Alianza Lima Femenino has signed Indian midfielder Manisha Kalyan from Greek club PAOK FC, the club announced on Thursday.
The 24-year-old becomes the first Indian footballer to join the Peruvian side, marking another milestone in her international career.
Alianza Lima confirmed the signing in an official statement: “Alianza Lima Women’s team announces the signing of Manisha Kalyan, an Indian midfielder who will bolster the team’s attack. The player comes from PAOK FC in Greece, where she competed at the highest level of European football.”
This move makes Alianza Lima Femenino the third overseas club of Manisha’s career. After beginning her journey in India with Sethu FC and Gokulam Kerala, she joined Cypriot club Apollon Ladies FC in 2022. There, she became the first Indian footballer to compete in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, scoring 14 goals in 36 matches. In 2024, she moved to PAOK FC in Greece, where she played 23 games and scored eight times.
Speaking after her signing, Manisha said, “I’m very happy to be here. I’ve followed the team, and I love their style of play. I’m very excited about this new challenge. My focus is on always giving 100 per cent, winning every match, and helping the team achieve its goals.”
Her arrival is expected to strengthen Alianza Lima’s attacking options as the club continues to build on its domestic success.
