Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has commenced fresh admissions for the January 2026 session across certificate, undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and postgraduate diploma programmes offered in both Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online modes.
The admission process began on December 16, 2025, through the Samarth Portal, and the last date for submission is January 31, 2026. Students can apply online by visiting the IGNOU website www.ignou.ac.in or directly through the admission portal http://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in (ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in in Bing).
IGNOU has announced a 50% fee exemption for fresh admissions and re-registration in certain undergraduate programmes for applicants belonging to SC/ST categories. However, students already availing scholarships or fee waivers under other schemes will not be eligible for this exemption.
