Odisha Vigilance officials launched simultaneous searches today at four locations linked to Basudev Bhoi, Senior Revenue Assistant, Office of the Settlement Officer, Major Settlement, Sambalpur.

The operation began on December 24, 2025, after allegations surfaced regarding the possession of disproportionate assets.

A team led by two Deputy Superintendents of Police and eight Inspectors carried out the searches with supporting staff. The Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur issued search warrants authorising the raids.

The vigilance team searched Bhoi’s residential double‑storied building in Bargarh, a building at Charbhati in Sambalpur, his parental house in Bargarh, and his office in Sambalpur. Officials examined documents, property records, and other materials to assess the scale of alleged disproportionate assets.

The searches drew attention across Sambalpur and Bargarh districts as vigilance officers inspected multiple premises simultaneously. The investigation aims to establish whether the Senior Revenue Assistant accumulated assets beyond his known sources of income.

Odisha Vigilance continues its focus on rooting out corruption within government offices. The ongoing searches highlight the department’s commitment to accountability and transparency. The case against Basudev Bhoi adds to a series of recent actions targeting officials suspected of amassing disproportionate assets.
