Nuapada district witnessed a tragic incident on Thursday morning when a seven-year-old boy lost his life after being run over by a tractor in Komna police station limits.
According to reports, the accident occurred in Baghmunda village under Bhela Panchayat. The child, identified as Bulu Adbang, son of Atal Bihari Adbang, was playing near his house when a paddy-laden tractor sped through the road. Consequently, the vehicle ran over the boy from behind, killing him instantly at the spot.
Soon after the accident, Komna police reached the location. They seized the tractor involved in the mishap and detained the driver for questioning. Moreover, officials confirmed that further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances leading to the tragedy.
The shocking death of the minor has left the local community in grief. Residents expressed concern over reckless driving in the area and urged authorities to enforce stricter safety measures.
