Authorities postponed the Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM) Second-Year annual examination indefinitely after a question paper leak triggered outrage among students and raised concerns about the credibility of the evaluation system.
Reports confirmed that the Midwifery subject paper circulated on social media around 11 AM, nearly three hours before the scheduled exam at 2 PM. Students and local sources from Malkangiri and Bolangir districts flagged the leak after screenshots of the paper went viral across messaging platforms.
Students expressed frustration and questioned how the paper surfaced online well before the scheduled time. They demanded accountability from officials responsible for handling examination materials and argued that such lapses undermine the credibility of nursing education.
Authorities suspended the exam and assured candidates that a new date would be announced only after a thorough investigation. Officials emphasised that the probe would identify individuals or networks behind the leak and hold them accountable.
Candidates urged the government to launch a comprehensive investigation and implement stronger safeguards to prevent future breaches. They stressed the need for transparent systems that protect the integrity of examinations and restore trust in the process.
