Black-Market Ticket Sales Surge as Offline Counters Open for India–South Africa T20 in Cuttack

With online ticket sales for the India–South Africa T20 match at Barabati Stadium now complete, offline ticket sales began on Friday, drawing significant attention from cricket enthusiasts. However, concerns have surfaced over alleged black-marketing of tickets ahead of the high-voltage December 9 clash in Cuttack.

According to sources, unauthorised brokers have become active, taking advantage of the massive public demand. Special enclosure tickets, originally priced at ₹6,000, are reportedly being resold for as high as ₹10,000.

Similarly, tickets for the first and third galleries—officially priced at ₹1,100—are allegedly being offered for ₹6,000 in the resale market. Some brokers are even advertising “bulk discounts,” claiming that buyers purchasing five or more tickets can get reduced rates.

The reports have raised concerns among fans, many of whom fear missing out on the much-anticipated match due to the illegal price surge. Authorities are expected to increase monitoring around the stadium to curb black-marketing activities.
