Imran Khan’s sister, Uzma Khan, was finally permitted to meet the jailed former Pakistani Prime Minister at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi after weeks of denied access despite court orders. Her visit came amid widespread speculation and rumours that Khan had died in custody.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Uzma Khan confirmed that her brother is alive and in good health but alleged that he is being kept in solitary confinement and subjected to mental torture. She said Khan has no contact with anyone and blamed Army Chief Asim Munir for his treatment.

The meeting took place against a backdrop of heightened tensions, with Khan’s supporters threatening mass protests in Rawalpindi and Islamabad to demand visitation rights. Authorities responded by prohibiting large gatherings and deploying over 700 security personnel around the prison.

While Uzma Khan’s remarks contradicted official claims of Khan’s well-being, jail authorities maintained that the former PM is receiving full medical attention and remains healthy. The standoff between Khan’s family, party workers, and the government continues to escalate, with protests intensifying outside Adiala Jail.
