Patna is set to witness a historic political moment as Nitish Kumar prepares to take oath as Chief Minister of Bihar for a record 10th time.

Following the NDA’s sweeping victory in the Assembly elections, Kumar was unanimously elected leader of the JD(U) Legislature Party and later chosen as the alliance’s leader.

The oath-taking ceremony will be held on Thursday at 11:30 am at Gandhi Maidan, Patna, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers, and Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled states. Tight security arrangements have been made, with over 2,500 personnel deployed and public entry restricted until the conclusion of the high-profile event.

The BJP has confirmed that Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha will continue as Deputy Chief Ministers, ensuring continuity in leadership. The new cabinet will emphasize caste and regional balance, with representation from key regions such as Shahabad, Magadh, Mithila, and Saran.

Party leaders hailed the NDA’s victory as a mandate for development and stability. JD(U)’s Komal Singh credited Nitish Kumar’s women-centric policies for the record turnout of women voters, which reached 71.6%, surpassing male participation. Meanwhile, Maithili Thakur, the youngest MLA at 25, expressed her excitement to contribute to Bihar’s progress.

Traditional gifts, including makhana garlands and Mithila angvastra, are being prepared to welcome leaders, while BJP offices in Patna are adorned with posters reading “Bihar Ki Janta Ka Aabhar, Ab Banega Viksit Bihar.”

With Nitish Kumar’s return, the NDA aims to reinforce its promise of a “Viksit Bihar,” focusing on inclusive governance and development.
