Locals spotted the headless body of a young man lying on the railway tracks near Budhamara station in Mayurbhanj district on Monday evening.
They immediately alerted Bangriposi police, who rushed to the scene and launched an investigation.
Police officers secured the area and recovered the body, which appeared to belong to a man around 25 years old. Since no identification documents were found, authorities struggled to confirm the victim’s identity. They began checking missing person reports and speaking with nearby residents to gather clues.
