In preparation for the upcoming by-election in the 71-Nuapada Assembly Constituency, the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Odisha, has launched a Special Summary Revision (SSR) of the electoral roll, following directives from the Election Commission of India.
The eligibility date for voters has been set as July 1, 2025.
As part of the SSR, the number of polling stations in the constituency has increased from 302 to 358, with 56 new booths created and 52 existing ones renamed. The reorganization includes 36 urban and 322 rural polling stations, aimed at improving accessibility and voter convenience.
The integrated draft electoral roll was published on September 15, 2025. Claims and objections can be submitted from September 15 to September 29, with resolution by October 7. The final publication of the voter list is scheduled for October 9.
According to the latest data, the constituency has a total of 2,48,256 voters, comprising 1,22,103 males, 1,26,132 females, and 21 third-gender voters. The list also includes 2,007 senior citizens, 6,003 young voters, and 4,000 persons with disabilities (PwD).
A coordination meeting with recognized political parties was held on September 15 to ensure transparency and cooperation during the revision process. District election officials have been instructed to involve party representatives at every stage, and soft copies of the draft roll have been shared with them.
