Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi presided over a landmark Groundbreaking Ceremony for 27 industrial projects, unlocking investments worth Rs 25,400 crore and paving the way for over 51,826 employment opportunities across 12 districts.
Held at the OUAT Conference Hall, the event showcased Odisha’s strategic push toward inclusive and regionally balanced industrial growth. The projects span sectors such as renewable energy, textiles, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, steel, and advanced manufacturing, with major players like SRF Ltd., Epsilon Carbon, MAS India Clothing, and Greenply Industries participating.
The projects represent a cumulative investment of over Rs 25,000 crore and are expected to generate more than 52,000 employment opportunities for youth across the state. Addressing the gathering, CM Majhi stated, “Every investment that comes to Odisha reflects growing trust in our policies and governance. We are committed to transforming Odisha into Eastern India’s manufacturing hub.”
Highlighting the government’s achievements, the Chief Minister shared that in just 15 months, the administration has approved 260 industrial projects, attracting Rs 5.6 lakh crore in investment and creating potential for 3.6 lakh jobs. Of these, 84 projects have already seen foundation stone ceremonies, accounting for Rs 2 lakh crore in investment and 1.64 lakh employment opportunities.
CM Majhi assured industrialists of a supportive ecosystem, stating, “Odisha offers sector-specific incentives and has removed bureaucratic hurdles. We are always ready to assist investors and resolve any challenges they face.”
He also called upon industries to actively participate in the “Ek Ped Maa Ki Naam 2.0” campaign by planting trees in their respective areas, emphasizing the need for development and environmental harmony. As a tribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday on September 17, Odisha has pledged to plant 75 lakh trees in a single day.
The Chief Minister virtually laid foundation stones for projects in Ganjam, Khordha, Jharsuguda, Koraput, and Angul, and felicitated industrialists whose projects were newly grounded.
