Senior BJP leader and former Parliamentarian Braj Mohan Ram was officially sworn in as the 44th Governor of Odisha on Sunday during a solemn ceremony held at Lok Bhavan in Bhubaneswar.
Orissa High Court Chief Justice Harish Tandon administered the oath of office and secrecy to Ram, who donned traditional attire as he took the solemn pledge at the podium.
The event was marked by the presentation of official documents by the Chief Justice, while a prominent digital display inside the venue highlighted the historic date of Oct 18, 2026.
Appointed by President Droupadi Murmu on Oct 12, Ram succeeds Kambhampati Hari Babu. A three-time former Lok Sabha MP from Jharkhand’s Palamu district, Ram brings decades of legislative experience to his new constitutional role.
Following the formal swearing-in procedures, the newly sworn-in Governor was presented with a ceremonial Guard of Honour at the Lok Bhavan premises, marking the official commencement of his tenure dedicated to the state’s progress and development.
