India pacer Mohammed Siraj has been nominated for the ICC Player of the Month award for August 2025, following his match-winning performance in the final Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series against England at The Oval.
Despite playing only one match in August, Siraj’s impact was undeniable. With Jasprit Bumrah absent, Siraj led the Indian attack with grit and precision, bowling over 46 overs across two innings and claiming nine wickets at an average of 21.11. His spell included four wickets in the first innings and a stunning five-wicket haul in the second, earning him the Player of the Match award and helping India secure a 2–2 series draw.
Siraj bowled a total of 185.3 overs across the five-Test series, finishing as the highest wicket-taker with 23 scalps. His consistency and leadership were pivotal for a young Indian side battling injuries and pressure throughout the tour.
Joining Siraj in the ICC’s nomination list are New Zealand’s Matt Henry, who starred in a 2–0 Test series win over Zimbabwe, and West Indies’ Jayden Seales, who played a key role in his team’s historic ODI series win over Pakistan.
