The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially invited applications for a new title sponsor for the Indian national cricket team, following the abrupt exit of Dream11.
The fantasy sports platform terminated its $44 million sponsorship deal after a recent parliamentary law banned real-money-based online gaming across India.
In a statement released Tuesday, the BCCI announced the “Invitation for Expression of Interest for National Team Lead Sponsor Rights,” signaling the start of a fresh bidding process. The sponsorship vacancy opens up a lucrative opportunity for brands seeking high-visibility association with Indian cricket.
Dream11, along with My11Circle, had contributed nearly ₹1,000 crore to Indian cricket through team and IPL sponsorships. The exit marks a significant shift in the sports marketing landscape, as regulatory changes reshape the role of fantasy gaming platforms in mainstream sports.
The BCCI is expected to finalize a new sponsor ahead of India’s upcoming international fixtures, ensuring continuity in branding and financial support for the team.
