Gajapati: Tehsildar of R Udayagiri was attacked by some locals following raids at several marriage feasts organised at Chheligada village flouting COVID norms in Gajapati district.
Reportedly, the seriously injured Tehsildar, Smruti Ranjan Mishra, and Sub Inspector Mukesh Lakra have been admitted to the local hospital for treatment.
According to reports, a team of R. Udayagiri Police along with the Tehsildar raided a wedding party in Chheligad Christian Sahi and found people violating COVID appropriate behaviour.
Following this, the enforcement team tried to stop the marriage celebrations and disperse the crowd. However, they faced a strong opposition from the locals and some of them led a sudden attack of the Tehsildar and the police personnel.
