Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president MK Stalin’s participation in Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar on Wednesday sparked a political row, with BJP leaders accusing him of hypocrisy and recalling past remarks by DMK leaders against Biharis.

BJP Tamil Nadu president K Annamalai released a video compilation of what he termed “uncouth remarks” made by DMK leaders and allies about Biharis and north Indians. “Hope he proudly repeats those insults in front of the very people he mocked,” Annamalai posted on X, tagging both Stalin and Rahul Gandhi.

Union Minister L Murugan questioned the “usefulness” of Stalin’s presence, remarking, “Even if he speaks English, it will reflect his colonial mindset. What is the use of his participation in the rally in Bihar?”

Another BJP leader, CR Kesavan, took aim at Stalin for allegedly avoiding greetings on Hindu festivals. “Will Stalin wish Biharis on Ganesh Chaturthi today, or will people remember how senior DMK leaders propagated ‘badnaam Bihar’?” he asked.

Despite the criticism, Stalin joined Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav at the rally. Tejashwi, turning the spotlight back on the BJP, redefined NDA as “Nahi Denge Adhikar” and accused the ruling alliance of denying constitutional rights.

Earlier, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy and Tejashwi led the march in Supaul, alleging the BJP-led NDA was undermining democracy and “stealing votes.”
