Airtel subscribers across India were left stranded without mobile connectivity as the network suffered a widespread outage.
The issue, which began around 4 PM, saw over 3,500 complaints registered on Downdetector, with users from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and other metros reporting dropped signals, failed calls, and inaccessible mobile data.
Social media platforms were flooded with user grievances, many expressing frustration over the timing of the outage during working hours. Several subscribers noted that even after recent recharges, their SIMs showed no internet access, while others experienced data deductions on 4G despite being on 5G plans.
The outage affected both voice and data services, with voice call failures being the most reported issue. Some users hinted at switching to alternate networks if such disruptions persist. Airtel has yet to issue an official statement regarding the cause or resolution timeline.
This incident highlights the growing dependence on mobile networks for daily communication, work, and entertainment—and the chaos that ensues when connectivity falters.
