Khallikote: DGP Shri Arun Kumar Shadangi has ordered to form a Special Investigation Team to investigate the Khallikote murder case.
So far, the police have arrested 9 accused involved in the murder. The other accused persons will be arrested soon.
The BJP leaders recently claimed the murder of Dilip Pihan in Khallikote was orchestrated by Saket Rama Rao, nephew of the late queen V. Sugnana Kumari Deo.
The investigation will be based on the scientific, forensic and digital data. Along with this, DGP Mr Shadangi has directed to collect the proper evidence and submit the chargesheet within 30 days for an early trial of the case.
The investigation team will report from time to time to the IG, Southern Range. Additionally, in view of the pre-election violence, Additional Director General of Security (Headquarters) Shri Radha Kishan Sharma, IPS will be stationed at Chhatrapur and will monitor the law and order situation in Ganjam district. He will stay in Chhatrapur from May 17 till the end of the polls and will keep a special eye on the law and order situation.
