In a significant step towards achieving the vision of Samrudha Odisha by 2036, the Government of Odisha, under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, is fast-tracking industrial development and fostering inclusive economic growth.
Reinforcing its commitment to building a robust investment ecosystem, the 138th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, approved 23 new investment proposals totalling ₹4,982.66 crore. These initiatives are expected to generate 11,933 jobs across 12 districts in the state.
The approved investments span several strategically important sectors, including Apparel and Textiles, Steel and Downstream Industries, Food and Beverages, Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Power and Renewable Energy, IT and ITES, Tourism, and Aerospace and Defence. This demonstrates the government’s holistic approach towards balanced regional development and sustainable industrialization.
This latest wave of investments reflects the state’s progressive policy framework, improved ease of doing business, and a clear roadmap for growth, aiming to transform Odisha into a vibrant economic powerhouse by 2036.
Major Sectoral Highlights:
Apparel & Textiles: Odisha’s emerging textile ecosystem receives a significant boost as KPR Mill Limited announces an investment of ₹350 crore in a large-scale garment manufacturing unit in Khordha. This facility will have an annual production capacity of 46.8 million pieces and is expected to create 5,000 jobs.
Steel & Downstream Industries: Odisha continues to strengthen its leadership in metal manufacturing with several key projects:
- Vidya Minerals Pvt. Ltd. plans to establish a 0.21 MTPA integrated steel plant in Sundargarh, with an investment of ₹620 crore and the potential to create 525 jobs.
- Jatia Steel Limited is set to build a steel structure unit in Jajpur, investing ₹451.90 crore and generating 175 jobs.
- Additional proposals from Amsted Steel Foundries, Mankash Enterprises, and Steelograph Ascenders will enhance the state’s downstream capabilities.
Food & Beverages: The agro-processing sector is witnessing significant growth:
- Hindustan Aqua Pvt. Ltd. will establish a beverage unit in Sundargarh, investing ₹320 crore and creating 250 jobs.
- Pragati Milk Products Pvt. Ltd. plans to develop a dairy facility in Balasore with an investment of ₹114.34 crore, which will create 674 jobs.
Tourism & Hospitality: Odisha’s emphasis on sustainable and luxury tourism is reinforced with six premium hospitality projects in Puri, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, and Ganjam, worth ₹479 crore. These projects are expected to generate 1,352 jobs and enhance Odisha’s appeal as a high-end tourist destination.
Aerospace & Defence – Emerging Technologies: Odisha is embracing innovation, with BonV Technology Pvt. Ltd. investing ₹300 crore in a futuristic Drone Park in Khordha. This integrated UAV ecosystem will focus on research and development, manufacturing, and training, creating 760 jobs and positioning Odisha as a leader in drone technology in India.
Green Energy & Green Equipment:
- Ecodynamix Green Energy Pvt. Ltd. will develop a 30 MW solar power plant in Bargarh, with an investment of ₹100 crore.
- Luminous Power Technologies Pvt. Ltd. plans to establish a manufacturing unit for 1.2 GW solar cells and 1 GW solar PV modules in Gopalpur, investing ₹950 crore and creating approximately 1,000 jobs.
Industrial Gases, Chemicals, & Pharmaceuticals:*
- Linde India is investing in an Air Separation Unit in Sundargarh.
- Growing Tree Oil Refinery Pvt. Ltd. will set up a solvent extraction unit in Bargarh.
- Synnat Pharma Pvt. Ltd. plans to invest ₹100 crore in an API manufacturing unit in Cuttack.
Information Technology: APMOSYS Technologies Pvt. Ltd. will establish a software development centre in Khordha with a proposed investment of ₹65 crore, creating 155 jobs. This development demonstrates Odisha’s growing appeal in the digital and IT services sector.
