In his latest ‘Mann Ki Baat’ broadcast, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation, shifting focus from the cricket frenzy of the Champions Trophy to India’s stellar achievements in space exploration.

Last month, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched its 100th rocket, a landmark reflecting the nation’s resolve to reach new heights in space science.

PM Modi lauded the journey of ISRO, from its humble beginnings to significant milestones such as Chandrayaan, Mangalyaan, Aditya L-1, and the launch of 104 satellites in one go. Over the past decade, around 460 satellites have been launched, including many from other countries. The Prime Minister noted the increasing participation of women in space science and the growing interest among youth.

In celebration of Women’s Day, PM Modi announced a unique initiative to honour women’s contributions. On March 8th, he will hand over his social media accounts, including X and Instagram, to inspiring women from diverse fields to share their work, experiences, and achievements. He urged women to participate through the NamoApp platform.

During the National Games’ opening in Dehradun, PM Modi highlighted the obesity crisis, noting its prevalence and alarming statistics. One in every eight people is affected by obesity, with cases doubling in recent years and childhood obesity quadrupling. The Prime Minister suggested reducing oil consumption by 10% as a simple measure to combat obesity. Olympic medalist Neeraj Chopra and boxer Nikhat Zareen shared their personal experiences, emphasizing the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

PM Modi also extended his best wishes to students preparing for board exams, urging them to stay positive and stress-free. He encouraged them to watch the ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ episodes available on NaMoApp, which cover topics related to exams, health, and nutrition.

The Prime Minister concluded his address by urging the nation to stay healthy and happy, promising to return next month with new topics in ‘Mann Ki Baat.’
