During the concert, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin invited couples to participate in the venue’s classic “kiss cam” moment. As the jumbotron panned across the crowd, it landed on Andy Byron, CEO of the data analytics company Astronomer, and Kristin Cabot, the firm’s Chief People Officer. The two shared a romantic moment on camera — the twist? They’re both married, just not to each other.
Instant Virality, Immediate Fallout
The video of the moment quickly spread across social media, triggering widespread discussions, memes, and questions over workplace relationships and corporate ethics. The situation spiraled further as Astronomer’s internal code of conduct came under scrutiny.
In the wake of the scandal, Andy Byron resigned. The company issued a statement on LinkedIn stating:
