A shooting incident has been reported in Renton, Washington, with police confirming that there may be multiple victims.
According to the Renton Police Department, the shooting occurred around 7:30 PM near Kirkland Avenue NE and NE 18th Street on Sunday evening. Officers are currently on-site, and an investigation is underway.
“This is an active scene, so expect a heavy police presence and please avoid the area,” the department stated in a public advisory.
The severity of injuries or the number of victims has not yet been officially confirmed. Authorities have cordoned off the area as they continue gathering evidence and speaking with potential witnesses.
This incident comes just over a week after another shooting at a transit center in Renton, where a man was shot five times during an altercation. In that case, prosecutors chose not to file charges, citing a lack of sufficient evidence to proceed, according to Fox13 Seattle.
Residents are urged to remain cautious and stay away from the affected zone until further notice.
