Most districts in Odisha experienced significant rainfall on Saturday, with northern, coastal, and interior regions bearing the brunt of the heavy downpours for the past two days.

The relentless rains have led to widespread crop damage and the uprooting of trees in several areas, while some regions reported hail and strong winds.

Since Saturday morning, light rain has been recorded in Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and Bhadrak districts. The regional meteorological centre has forecast heavy rain with thunderstorms and wind speeds of 40 to 50 km per hour in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, and Bhadrak over the next 24 hours. An orange warning has been issued for these areas.

Additionally, light rain and wind speeds of 30 to 40 km per hour are expected in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Khordha, Puri, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, and Jajpur districts, prompting a yellow warning.

The maximum rainfall of 26 mm was recorded in Angul City between Thursday morning and Friday evening. Other notable rainfall figures include 25.4 mm in Bhubaneswar, 22.4 mm in Baripada, 21 mm in Dhenkanal, 18.4 mm in Chandbali, 15 mm in Talcher, 12.8 mm in Keonjhar, 7.6 mm in Bhadrak, 6.9 mm in Balasore, and 5 mm in Cuttack.

The highest recorded rainfall was 45 mm in the Athgarh block of Cuttack district, followed by 41.4 mm in Ghashipura of Keonjhar district, 38 mm in Bhandaripokhari of Bhadrak district, 33.4 mm in Anandpur of Keonjhar district, and 32.2 mm in Danagadi of Jajpur district.

As a result of the heavy rains, both day and night temperatures have dropped by 3 to 4 degrees in most parts of the state. Angul and Bhadrak cities saw minimum temperatures fall below 15 degrees.

The meteorological centre forecasts no change in minimum temperatures for the next 4 to 5 days. The highest temperatures recorded in the state were 35.5 degrees in Bhawanipatna, 35.3 degrees in Malkangiri, 35.2 degrees in Parlakhemundi and Jharsuguda, and 35 degrees in Bolangir, Boudh, and Titilagarh.

Whats interesting about the arrival of Nagarjuna and Chiranjeevi is how the bodyguard was about the close the car door even before Chiranjeevi could come out ! Call it a brain fade moment or something else !!! Nevertheless Nagarjuna came to the rescue with the last minute blocking of the car door.

Hope nothing happened to the Bodyguard post this goof up.
