Renowned actress B Saroja Devi, a towering figure in Indian cinema for over six decades, passed away at the age of 87 due to age-related ailments.
She was reportedly found unconscious at her residence in Malleswaram, Bengaluru, and later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Known as the “Chaturbhasha Taare,” she earned fame for her exceptional performances in over 200 films spanning Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi languages. Saroja Devi was one of the few stars whose career bridged regional boundaries and connected generations of film lovers.
Her versatility and grace redefined female leads in Indian cinema during the golden age. She shared screen space with legends like MGR, Sivaji Ganesan, N T Rama Rao, and Rajkumar, captivating audiences with her expressive artistry.
